By J. Slane, l.r.c.p. In the month of June or July of 1S81, you were kind enough to publish in your journal a case of so-called malarial cachexia, which I had reported to you. Since then a lady has twice come under my care with symptoms of a kindred character, and whose case, as briefly detailed below, I beg leave to send you for publication. Mrs. aged 35 years, of full habit, nervous temperament, mother of six children, nursing a fine strong boy of nine months, came to me in November, 1881, in great distress of mind.
